Transform Your

If you like gaming, you’ll love esports!

The EsportsAble Academy is designed to help you get more out of your gameplay, even if you have no desire to pursue a career as a professional esports athlete.

But if you want to push the limits you can learn from professional esport players and coaches about what is needed to take your gameplay to the next level. Who knows… you might even get the chance to represent Australia in esports at the Esports Olympics.

 Your Questions Answered!

  • The EsportsAble Academy is a safe and inclusive online community that has been setup to support high school aged children (under 18 years) to learn how to get more out of their gaming.

It’s not just about competitive esports, the Academy is also open to those who just want to meet other local gamers and work on their social gaming.

  • EsportsAble Academy is run by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Staff involved in the Academy have been involved in running high school esports events for more than a decade.

  • Participation in both the EsportsAble Academy and the local esports events is restricted to Queensland high school students under 18 years of age.

When students turn 18 their membership will be converted to a Level 1 membership due to child safety restrictions.

Please reach out if you have a question about your eligibility.

  • There is no cost to join the EsportsAble Academy. However, members will need access to a computer and cover their own data costs.

Reach out if you want to participate but don’t have a computer or Internet access… we can help connect you with a public option.

Level Up Your

Membership!

The EsportsAble Academy has three membership levels.

LEVEL 1 - this is the most basic level of membership. Participants can access general information on the EsportsAble website about the benefits and resources available within the Academy to help decide if they want to join. There is also information available for parents to help them decide whether they would like their children to participate in the Academy.

LEVEL 2 - this level of membership represents a significant step up from Level 1. Level 2 members gain access to a separate community site that includes an extensive library of resources to help individuals transform their gameplay, including tools to help manage game stress and maintain good mental health. Members at this level will also be able to connect with other members via the online forum and hone their skills via weekly “power-up” sessions. To access Level 2 membership, you will need to verify your identity and obtain parental consent.

LEVEL 3 - this is the highest level of membership in the Academy. It includes all of the benefits of Level 2, but with the option to access personalised training and mentoring. Level 3 membership requires the completion of all core modules, participation in at least one “power-up” session, and for you to be in good standing (i.e., no serious violations of the Code of Conduct). Level 3 members will be able to pre-register and can get involved in the organisation of their local esports events. Level 3 members will also receive an invite to an invitation-only career advice session following their local event to explore employment opportunities in esports.
