Showcase your skills!
In 2025, the EsportsAble project will host a series of esports tournaments across six regional Queensland cities: Toowoomba, Mount Isa, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns. These events aim to foster inclusivity and provide high school students with opportunities to engage in safe competitive gaming, culminating in the inaugural Queensland State High School Championship in Brisbane.
Competition format: The local tournaments will be held in a biathlon format, meaning that to be crowned “local champion” you will need to perform well in two very different types of esports.
Rocket League: Teams of three will compete in Rocket League, emphasizing teamwork and strategy in this fast-paced vehicular soccer game.
Marvel Rivals: Teams of six will compete in Marvel Rivals, testing their versatility and tactical skills in a modified first-person shooter game.
Tournament structure and prizes:
Each local tournament will run for two days and is limited to 10 teams, ensuring focused competition and ample playtime for all participants.
Winners in each game will receive prizes recognizing their achievements.
The top-performing team overall, demonstrating excellence across both Rocket League and Marvel Rivals, will receive funding to travel to Brisbane for the state championship, representing their region on a larger stage.
Registration information:
To manage participation, Level 3 members have the advantage of pre-registering their teams four weeks prior to each tournament.
General team registrations open two weeks before the event, allowing broader access while maintaining organized enrolment.
