
CODE OF CONDUCT
The EsportsAble Academy provides young esports athletes with the opportunity to develop their skills, compete in organised events, and gain valuable experience in a structured and supportive environment.
This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations, player responsibilities, and parental acknowledgement for good behaviour during all Academy activities. Its purpose is promote a safe, inclusive, respectful, and fair experience for members of the EsportsAble community.
Acknowledgement of responsibilities:
By joining the EsportsAble Academy, members agree to uphold the values, expectations, and responsibilities outlined in this Code of Conduct. This commitment ensures a positive, respectful, and professional environment for all players, staff, and community members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
By participating, members and parents agree to uphold this Code of Conduct, fostering a safe, inclusive, and professional esports environment. This document promotes an inclusive, respectful, and fair experience for all involved in the EsportsAble community.
1. Show good sportsmanship during tournaments:
Always display positive and respectful behaviour, whether winning or losing.
Support and encourage teammates and opponents alike.
Avoid trash talk and demonstrate grace in both victory and defeat.
Represent your community and region responsibly and respectfully.
Encourage and support teammates to build a positive team spirit.
Accept feedback gracefully and seek clarification when needed.
Be punctual for practices and events, and manage emotions responsibly.
2. Demonstrate respect and courtesy at all times:
Treat all members with kindness and consideration.
Harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
This includes hate speech, threats, bullying, or personal attacks.
3. Don’t contribute to cyberbullying and harassment:
Cyberbullying, harassment, and other toxic behaviours are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate expulsion from the Academy. This includes, but is not limited to, the following types of behaviour:
Sending hurtful or abusive messages.
Spreading rumours or lies about others.
Creating fake accounts to harass or humiliate.
Sharing content to demean or embarrass.
Threatening or promoting harm to individuals or property.
Excluding others online to cause distress.
4. Follow community discussion etiquette, including:
Keep chat respectful and relevant to the game.
Avoid spamming or flooding messages.
No inappropriate, explicit, or offensive content.
Do not impersonate staff or share inappropriate links.
Refrain from advertising personal products or services.
5. Respect the privacy of all members:
Never share personal information without parental consent, including:
Real names
Addresses
Emails
Date of birth
6. Play fair and respect the game:
Do not cheat, hack, or exploit game mechanics.
Avoid boosting or sharing accounts.
Comply with the relevant esports and game codes, including:

VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT
Breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in:
Warnings (verbal or written).
Forfeiture of prizes.
Restricted access to academy resources.
Removal from matches, teams, or tournaments.
Corrective actions (e.g., retraining or restrictions).
Suspension or disqualification from events.
Referral to the eSafety Commissioner or law enforcement.
COMPLAINTS AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Queries or complaints can be submitted via the contact form on this website, the ticketing system within the Circle Community, or via email to esportsable@qut.edu.au.
For complaints against another player, team, or one of the event administrators: a senior member of the EsportsAble project team will undertake an investigation and notify the parties of the decision. While procedural justice will apply, all decisions are final and there are no avenues for appeal.
While every effort will be made to ensure fairness, the need for timely decisions (particularly during a tournament) may result in an error of judgement. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
